Dehradun, Arunoday Times, June 2, 2026:
Mussoorie Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA)** has intensified its campaign against unauthorized constructions by sealing two major buildings in **Rishikesh** and **Dehradun**. The authority stated that strict action will continue against any construction carried out without approved building plans and necessary permissions.

The first action was taken in **Khairikala, Shyampur (Rishikesh)**, where an under-construction building owned by **Sunil** was found to be unauthorized. Following inspection and due procedure, the structure was sealed by the MDDA team in the presence of engineering officials and police personnel.
In a separate operation, MDDA sealed a multi-storey building under construction in **Pant Marg, Subhash Nagar, Dehradun**, owned by **Savita Gehlot**. The authority found violations of approved construction norms and initiated sealing action under the directions of Joint Secretary **Pratyush Singh
Special Monitoring in Sensitive Areas

MDDA officials said that rapid urban expansion in **Dehradun, Rishikesh, Doiwala, Raipur, and adjoining areas** has led to a rise in complaints regarding illegal constructions. To address this, the authority has increased surveillance through regular inspections, drone surveys, and public complaints.
According to MDDA, unauthorized constructions not only violate the Master Plan and building regulations but also create long-term challenges related to traffic management, drainage systems, parking facilities, and urban infrastructure.
MDDA has urged property owners, builders, and developers to obtain all required approvals before starting any construction work. The authority warned that unauthorized structures may face sealing, demolition, and other legal actions.
