Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Sunday unveiled ‘Maverick Jaspal: The Man Who Changed Indian Shooting’, a book documenting the life, achievements and sporting legacy of late ace shooter Jaspal Rana, recognising his contribution to Indian shooting and his role in bringing glory to Uttarakhand.
The book was presented to the Chief Minister by Jaspal Rana’s family members during a meeting at the Chief Minister’s residence. His wife, Reena Rana, son Yuvraj Rana and daughter Devanshi Rana were present on the occasion.

Paying tribute to the celebrated shooter, Dhami said Jaspal Rana played a significant role in giving Indian shooting a distinct identity through his talent, hard work, discipline and determination. His achievements, he said, continue to inspire young people across the country and demonstrate how consistent practice, dedication and self-confidence can help turn ambitious goals into reality.
The Chief Minister said Rana not only established himself as a distinguished name in shooting but also brought pride and recognition to Uttarakhand. His sporting journey, he added, serves as an example for aspiring athletes to remain committed to their goals and strive for excellence at national and international levels.
Expressing confidence in the book’s impact, Dhami said ‘Maverick Jaspal: The Man Who Changed Indian Shooting’ would help readers, particularly young athletes, understand Rana’s experiences, struggles and achievements. He also extended his best wishes to the family for their efforts to preserve and share his legacy.
The book aims to bring the life and contribution of one of India’s prominent shooting personalities to a wider audience, inspiring the next generation of athletes to pursue excellence with discipline and determination.
