ARUNODAY TIMES , Dehradun, August 2, 2026: The Mussoorie Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA) has announced a first-of-its-kind “Mascot Design and Slogan Competition 2026”, inviting citizens to help create the authority’s official identity. The state-level competition will be held from August 3 to August 16, 2026, with the winning mascot design receiving a cash prize of ₹50,000.
MDDA Vice Chairman Banshidhar Tiwari said the initiative aims to develop a unique and original mascot that will serve as the face of the authority’s development initiatives, public awareness campaigns, citizen engagement programmes, and educational outreach activities. Participants are also required to submit a creative slogan or tagline along with their mascot design.
Online Entries with Concept

Participants must submit their entries online in JPEG, PNG, or PDF format. Each submission should include a brief concept note explaining the mascot’s design, the character’s identity, and the rationale behind the proposed slogan.
Entries will be evaluated on the basis of creativity, originality, universal appeal, and adaptability across multiple communication platforms, the authority said.

AI-Generated Designs Not Allowed
MDDA has clarified that artificial intelligence (AI)-generated designs will not be accepted. Only original, self-created artwork will be considered eligible for the competition.
Prize Money
The competition offers the following awards:
- First Prize (Mascot): ₹50,000
- Second Prize: ₹30,000
- Third Prize: ₹15,000
- Best Slogan/Tagline: ₹10,000
Encouraging Public Participation
Vice Chairman Banshidhar Tiwari appealed to students, artists, designers, creative professionals, and the general public to participate enthusiastically. He said the initiative would help create a distinctive identity for MDDA that reflects Dehradun’s development, innovation, and the aspirations of its citizens through public participation.

MDDA Secretary Mohan Singh Barniya also urged educational institutions, media organisations, and social groups to promote the competition widely. Registration details and complete participation guidelines are available through the official QR code released by the authority.
