# Operation Prahar: Dehradun Police Busts Cobra Gang Network, 3 Drug Traffickers Arrested with Cocaine Worth ₹20 Lakh

In a major crackdown under “Operation Prahar,” launched as part of the Chief Minister’s vision of a “Drug-Free Devbhoomi,” Dehradun Police has achieved a significant success. Rajpur Police arrested three drug traffickers, including two foreign nationals linked to the notorious Cobra Gang, and recovered **20.92 grams of illegal cocaine worth approximately ₹20 lakh** from their possession.

According to police, a tip-off was received that members of the Cobra Gang had arrived in the Rajpur area to supply cocaine at high-profile parties. Acting swiftly on the information, police launched an intensive checking operation at multiple locations.
During the operation, two foreign nationals riding a scooter were arrested near the old shrine on Johri Road with **9.15 grams of cocaine**. In a separate action near CISF Tiraha on Old Mussoorie Road, another accused was apprehended from a car with **11.77 grams of cocaine**.
The arrested individuals have been identified as **Michael Ikka Meckson** and **Levikiri Waniki**, both natives of Sudan, and **Javed Alam**, a resident of Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh. Cases under the NDPS Act have been registered against all three accused.
Cocaine Brought from Delhi
During interrogation, the foreign nationals revealed that they were active members of the Cobra Gang and used to transport cocaine from Delhi for distribution through agents and peddlers across different parts of the country. The seized consignment was also allegedly brought from Delhi a few days ago and was intended for supply at high-profile parties in Dehradun.
Meanwhile, Javed Alam admitted that he procured cocaine from Delhi and supplied it in Dehradun. Police have also gathered important information about other gang members and are conducting further investigations to trace and arrest them.
Cobra Gang Already Under Police Radar
Rajpur Police has previously arrested 13 members of the Cobra Gang and several other drug traffickers. According to police records, around **200 grams of cocaine worth ₹2.5 crore** had been seized from the gang in earlier operations.
145 Drug Traffickers Arrested in Five Months
Dehradun Police stated that during the first five months of 2026, anti-drug operations led to the seizure of narcotics worth nearly **₹3 crore**. A total of **145 drug traffickers** have been arrested and sent to jail during this period.
The Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Dehradun, has announced a **cash reward of ₹2,500** for the police team that successfully carried out the operation.
