Dehradun: The 8th Annual Grand Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath will be held in Dehradun on July 16, 2026, bringing together thousands of devotees in a vibrant celebration of faith and devotion. The religious procession is being organized by the Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu Namahatta Sri Jagannath Mandir Seva Trust, whose office-bearers announced the event during a press conference.
According to the organizers, the Rath Yatra will spread the message of love, selfless service, social harmony, and Harinam Sankirtan. The day-long programme will begin at 11:00 a.m. with a Manglacharan (auspicious invocation) and the inaugural ceremony at the Jagannath Temple premises in Litchi Bagh.
A Mahaprasad distribution will take place at 12:00 noon, followed by the grand Rath Yatra at 2:00 p.m., during which the beautifully decorated chariot carrying Lord Jagannath will proceed through various routes from Litchi Bagh to Jodi Gaon, accompanied by devotional singing and Siddhi Harinam Sankirtan.
The organizers expect 2,000 to 5,000 devotees to participate in the procession.
The Trust has invited devotees from Dehradun and nearby areas, along with social organizations and youth groups, to join the Rath Yatra, seek the blessings of Lord Jagannath, and partake in the sacred Mahaprasad.
