Dehradun: A four-year-old girl who apparently lost her way while playing was reunited with her family within an hour after Doiwala Police found her wandering alone in the Jolly Grant area on Wednesday.
Police personnel at the Jolly Grant outpost noticed the child alone in the area on September 23. Since she was too young to provide details about her parents or address, the police immediately began efforts to locate her family.
The police activated their local network and circulated the child’s photograph through various local channels. Their efforts soon led them to her family.
Police identified the girl’s father as a native of Badhanpurwa village under Padhwa Police Station in Lakhimpur Kheri district of Uttar Pradesh, who is currently living in Athurwala near Number 6 Chowk in Jolly Grant, Dehradun.
The family was contacted and the child was safely handed over to them within about an hour of being found.
The child’s safe return brought relief to the family, who thanked the Doiwala police team for its prompt response and timely efforts.
