Governor Gurmit Singh Hears Grievances of Ex-Servicemen and Citizens During Lok Milan Programme

Governor Lieutenant General Gurmit Singh (Retd.) on Monday heard the grievances of ex-servicemen, their dependents, and citizens from remote areas during the Lok Milan Programme held at Lok Bhawan. Assuring prompt and effective resolution of complaints, the Governor directed officials to take necessary action without delay.

Around 20 people from Uttarkashi, Tehri Garhwal, Pauri Garhwal, Haridwar, and Dehradun districts participated in the programme and presented issues related to land disputes, employment, village development, financial assistance, and other public welfare matters before the Governor.

The Governor said that every complaint would be resolved as per rules within the stipulated time frame. He instructed the grievance redressal officer to immediately forward all cases to the concerned district magistrates and departmental officials to ensure speedy action and effective resolution.
Highlighting the objective of the Lok Milan Programme, the Governor said the initiative aims to directly listen to the concerns of citizens, especially ex-servicemen, and ensure sensitive and result-oriented action. He emphasized that no unnecessary delay in resolving public issues would be tolerated.
During the programme, several individuals also presented their self-written books to the Governor. Young athletes from Uttarakhand who won medals at the National Federation Cup in Wushu also met the Governor. Congratulating them on their achievements, he encouraged the children to continue excelling in sports, Additionally, he presented a book to the senior journalist Ram Anuj.

In addition, medal-winning students of PM Shri Government Girls Inter College, who represented India in a kabaddi competition held in Nepal, also met the Governor and sought his blessings. The students won medals in the Under-17 and Under-14 categories. Praising their achievement, the Governor said daughters today are bringing glory to the state and the nation in every field.
