MDDA Cracks Down on Illegal Construction in Vikasnagar, Commercial Building Sealed
Dehradun | Arunoday Times
The Mussoorie Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA) intensified its action against illegal constructions in the Vikasnagar area by sealing an unauthorized commercial building located at Yamuna Vihar near Guru Nanak Mission Public School on Canal Bypass Road.
According to MDDA officials, the construction, being carried out by Gulshan without prior approval or sanctioned map permission, was found violating prescribed building norms and regulations during an on-site inspection conducted by the authority’s enforcement team. Following the inspection, the structure was sealed under the provisions of the Uttarakhand Urban and Country Planning and Development Act.

MDDA Vice Chairman Banshidhar Tiwari stated that the authority is continuing its strict campaign against illegal residential and commercial constructions across the region. He emphasized that unauthorized structures not only violate regulations but also disrupt planned urban development. He appealed to citizens to obtain all necessary approvals before beginning any construction work.

MDDA Secretary Mohan Singh Barnia also issued a stern warning, saying that regular inspections are being carried out across the authority area and strict action will continue against violators constructing buildings without sanctioned maps or permissions.

The sealing operation was carried out in the presence of Assistant Engineer Shashank Saxena, Junior Engineer Amar Pal, supervisors, and police personnel. MDDA officials confirmed that the anti-encroachment and anti-illegal construction drive will continue in the coming days.
