Governor Honors Personnel for Outstanding Work During Disaster
Dehradun ceremony recognizes officials for exemplary service during flood and cloudburst incident

At a felicitation ceremony held at Lok Bhawan in Dehradun, Governor Lieutenant General Gurmit Singh (Retd.) honored personnel from Dehradun district for their outstanding service during a disaster situation. He praised their dedication and commitment, calling them an inspiration for others.

It is noteworthy that on the night of September 15–16, 2025, a severe cloudburst and heavy rainfall in the Sahastradhara–Karligad area triggered flood-like conditions. Following the incident, the district administration promptly launched relief and rescue operations, in which several officials and staff played commendable roles.
Those honored included Chief Development Officer Abhinav Shah, Additional District Magistrate Krishna Kumar Mishra, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Har Giri, Judicial Additional SDM Kumkum Joshi, Deputy Superintendent of Police Manoj Kumar Aswal, Senior Medical Officer Dr. M.A. Bhatt, Junior Assistant Indresh Kothari, UPCL lineman Aman, and Junior Engineer of PWD Pradeep Shahi.
The Governor also specially appreciated District Magistrate Savin Bansal, stating that he acted as a “frontline leader” during the crisis, demonstrating effective leadership and coordination with his team.
Emphasizing the importance of disaster preparedness, the Governor said that administrative officials, security forces, and other personnel worked selflessly during the crisis, putting service to society and the nation above their own comfort and safety. Their dedication and sacrifice, he said, serve as a true inspiration.
