Alankar Jewellers is set to expand its presence in Uttarakhand with the launch of its second showroom in Bhaniawala on September 14. The brand has been serving customers in Rishikesh for over 14 years and is now bringing its traditional and contemporary jewellery collection closer to customers in the surrounding areas.
The new showroom has been designed around a distinctive Pahadi theme, highlighting the cultural heritage of Uttarakhand. Along with gold, silver, diamond and Kundan jewellery, customers will find a special collection of traditional Garhwali and Kumaoni ornaments, including Pahadi Nath, Paunchi and Timaniya.
Ahead of the launch, a traditional puja and havan was performed on September 12 by 11 Brahmins. A grand preview will be held on September 13, followed by the official inauguration on September 14. Dr Vijay Dhasmana, Chairman of Swami Rama Himalayan University, will attend the inauguration as the chief guest.
According to Sawan Verma, owner of Alankar Jewellers, the family’s jewellery business has deep roots in Uttarakhand’s culture. The business was started in Rudraprayag in 1983 by his grandfather, and the family has since worked to preserve traditional Pahadi jewellery while adapting the designs to contemporary preferences.
Sawan Verma said that traditional jewellery is not merely an ornament but represents the culture, traditions and emotions of the hills. The Bhaniawala showroom aims to offer customers a wide range of both traditional and modern jewellery under one roof, along with special Pahadi designs and launch offers.
The brand expects the new showroom to receive the same trust and response from customers in Bhaniawala that it has received in Rishikesh, while giving Uttarakhand’s traditional jewellery a wider platform.
