Banshidhar Tiwari’s Initiative: ‘No Vehicle Day’ Implemented in Information Department
Dehradun: In a step towards promoting energy conservation and the judicious use of resources, Director General Information Banshidhar Tiwari has directed the implementation of “No Vehicle Day” every Saturday in the Information Department, following instructions received from the government.
The Director General appealed to all departmental officers and employees to use public transport, bicycles, or other alternative modes of travel for commuting to office on Saturdays. He said that small individual efforts can collectively bring significant positive change and strengthen the national campaign for energy conservation.
He further stated that the department itself would set a positive example for society by adopting this initiative. The “No Vehicle Day” campaign will not only help save fuel but also reduce carbon emissions, contributing significantly to environmental protection.
