OBC Commission Hears 10 Complaints, Issues Strict Directions to Departments
Cases Related to Land Disputes, Appointments, Pension and Ration Shops Taken Up During Public Hearing

The Uttarakhand Other Backward Classes (OBC) Commission on Monday conducted a public hearing on 10 different complaints received from various districts across the state. The hearing was chaired by Commission Chairman Sanjay Negi, where cases related to land disputes, appointments, salary payments, pensions, ration shops and fraud were discussed in detail, and necessary directions were issued to the concerned departments.
During the hearing, Chairman Sanjay Negi carefully listened to the grievances of all complainants and sought factual reports from departmental officials regarding each case.
In the land encroachment case of Tehri Garhwal resident Nandini Gusain, the police department informed the commission that the matter was of civil nature. The commission was told that further action would be taken after the land status is clarified and orders are received from the competent magistrate. The complainant was also assured of security protection.
In the case filed by Dehradun resident Saroj Kumar regarding the return of his belongings, the commission directed the police department to hear both parties and submit a detailed report within 15 days.
Similarly, in the appointment and salary payment case of Haridwar resident Satish Kumar, the commission instructed the Uttarakhand Forest Development Corporation to consider the matter sympathetically and submit a report within 15 days.
On the complaint filed by Haridwar resident Ahsan Ansari regarding the opening of a government ration shop, the commission directed the Food Department to take positive action. Commission member Sajjad Ahmad was also asked to coordinate with the District Supply Officer for the speedy disposal of the matter.
In the SGHS deduction case of Dehradun resident Vasudev Kushwaha, the commission appreciated the efforts made by the State Health Authority and directed all departments to ensure wider awareness about the scheme to prevent such complaints in future.
Apart from this, the commission also issued necessary directions in cases related to old pension schemes, appointments and fraud after seeking clarifications from the concerned departments. Cases found to be sub judice were directed to be disposed of as per rules.
During the hearing, three complaints were resolved on the spot. The hearing was attended by Vice Chairman Shyam Dobhal, Secretary Gordhan Singh, along with several commission members and staff officials.
