Dehradun: On the occasion of the 82nd birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna and former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, the Rajiv Gandhi Study Circle, under the leadership of its National President Ashok Gehlot and in collaboration with the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation, is organizing the national case study competition “RISE & ACT: Resilient Initiatives for Social, Environmental & Community Action.”
The competition is centered around the theme “Green Swaraj: Rise & Act – Local Voices, Collective Action, Sustainable Future.”
Sharing details of the initiative, Supriya Dhasmana, State Student Secretary of the Rajiv Gandhi Study Circle, Uttarakhand, said that undergraduate, postgraduate, and PhD students from across the country are eligible to participate free of cost.
Participants can choose from two categories:
- A case study on an environmental issue successfully addressed through community participation.
- A research paper proposing solutions to unresolved environmental challenges through community-based initiatives, government policies, or a combination of both.
The competition offers 25 cash awards worth a total of ₹1.51 lakh. The first prize carries ₹50,000, followed by ₹30,000 for the second prize and ₹20,000 for the third prize. Additionally, seven consolation prizes of ₹5,000 each and 15 Best Questioner Awards of ₹1,000 each will be presented.
The top 20 research papers will be shortlisted for presentation at the National Conference to be held on August 20, 2026, at Jawahar Bhawan, New Delhi. The selected papers will also be published. All participants will receive certificates and conference kits.
Research papers must be submitted as a Word document of up to 5,000 words, following the APA 7th edition citation style. The plagiarism level must be below 12%, while AI-generated content should not exceed 30%.
