STF Busts High-Tech SSC Exam Cheating Racket, Delhi-Based Accused Arrested
Dehradun: Arunoday Times
Uttarakhand Special Task Force (STF) has arrested another key member of a high-tech cheating racket involved in manipulating SSC online examinations. The accused allegedly created server rooms, exam labs, and underground chambers to facilitate cheating through advanced electronic systems.

The arrested accused has been identified as Ishwari Prasad alias Inderjit Sharma alias Inder, a resident of Nihal Vihar, Delhi. He was apprehended from St. John’s Academy in Nehru Gram, Dehradun, while allegedly installing internet routers inside the examination lab.
According to STF officials, the action was taken following strict directions from the Uttarakhand Chief Minister to crack down on examination malpractices and cheating mafias operating in competitive exams. The STF had formed special teams and was continuously monitoring inputs related to organized cheating networks.

Investigations revealed that the accused played a crucial role in the SSC Multi-Tasking Staff (Non-Technical) and Havaldar online examination conducted on February 13, 2026. He allegedly established a complete technical network at the examination centre, including server room connections and an underground chamber, enabling remote access for solvers to answer questions during the exam.
The STF stated that three other members of the gang had already been arrested earlier in the same case. During interrogation, the accused admitted that he had expertise in electrical and networking work and had developed technical setups for multiple labs and institutions linked to the racket.
During the arrest, STF recovered one laptop, four mobile phones, 14 Bluetooth devices with receivers, 20 batteries, two internet routers, and a fake ID card from the accused.
Officials further revealed that servers at St. John’s Academy in Nehru Gram and some other locations may have been compromised. Considering that the SSC Constable GD online examination is scheduled for May 18, 2026, STF has already informed the Regional Director of the Staff Selection Commission (SSC), Delhi, about the suspected security breach.
Interrogation of the accused is still underway, and STF is continuing its investigation to uncover the wider network involved in the examination cheating racket.
