Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami took direct action on a complaint received through the CM Helpline by visiting the spot himself instead of relying on file-based reports.
The complaint was related to a damaged footpath on Rajpur Road in the Jakhan area of Dehradun. Local resident Vivek Madan had reported that during underground electricity line work, the footpath was dug up and not properly restored, leading to damaged tiles and inconvenience to pedestrians.
Before holding the scheduled review meeting, the Chief Minister made a surprise visit to the location. Accompanied by the complainant, he used his mobile phone to show officials the ground reality via video call.
Expressing strong displeasure over the negligence, CM Dhami instructed officials to work in better coordination and ensure proper planning to avoid repeated work, public inconvenience, and wastage of government funds.

He also pointed out that despite underground cabling, electric lines were still visible at several places, posing potential risks to the public. Immediate corrective action was directed.
The Chief Minister further instructed the Chief Secretary to launch a statewide campaigns to identify and resolve similar complaints across Uttarakhand. He also interacted with local shopkeepers and residents during the inspection.
The visit sends a clear message: complaints will not just be closed on paper, but resolved on the ground.
